Posts Tagged ‘catalpa tree’

Today I started working on a new tool.

The new tool I made today is made of :

One Catalpa bignonioides’ s slender pod. The Catalpa tree originated from ‘kutuhlpa’ meaning ‘winged head’ The tree produces long slender pods which are green and turn brown into winter to open in the spring and release the seeds. The tree is also called “catawba,” by the Native American in the Carolinas. The Catawba are also known as Iswa “people of the river”.

The tree has its own caterpillar – The Catalpa Sphinx Moth – which is used as fishing-bait.

The spiritual meaning of the catalpa tree is:
Embracing Uniqueness, Esoteric Studies, Expressing Creativity, Spirit Summoning

Black Bamboo
The bamboo is considered a gentleman with perfect virtues. It combines upright integrity with accommodating flexibility; it has the perfect balance of grace and strength, or the Yin and the Yang, simplicity and humility.

Bamboo has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine and Chinese herbal medicines. Tabasheer, powder in bamboo tubes, used internally to treat asthma, coughs and can be used as an aphrodisiac. In China, materials from the roots of the black bamboo help treat kidney disease. Roots and leaves can also be used to treat venereal disease.

The ends are closed with camellia japonica dried flowers. In Japan the camellia flower is called “Tsubaki” and symbolizes the divine.

Here the final shaman wisdom tool:
